Dr Charlene Janion-Scheepers
Co-Principal Investigator
I am a terrestrial ecologist and invertebrate physiologist based at the University of Cape Town, with a focus on how small invertebrates, especially soil fauna, respond to climate change. I’m particularly interested in how flexible these organisms are in adapting to changing environments, and how their responses vary between native and introduced species. My work combines a range of tools and techniques, including physiology, taxonomy, DNA barcoding, and ecological studies, to better understand these complex systems. To do this, I get to work with amazing and talented collaborators and students around the world!
